Can Children Get Spinal Misalignments / Subluxations?

August 30, 2022

Subluxation / Misalignment of the spine occurs when vertebrae shift out of alignment due to bodily trauma. Whether that trauma is mental, physical, or environmental, the result can lead to painful or limited mobility and a deteriorating nervous system that is unable to send the proper messages throughout the body

What many people don’t realize is that subluxation / spinal misalignment isn’t reserved for adults. Children, even infants, can experience nervous system-effecting trauma. A child’s first subluxation / spinal misalignment can happen the moment they enter the world. The birthing process is a traumatic experience on a newborn’s tiny body, and without proper chiropractic alignment, the baby is at risk for a weakened immune system, problematic sleeping patterns, and digestion issues.

Other signs your child may be affected by subluxation / spinal misalignment:

  • ADHA (or other social, emotional or behavioral issues)
  • Asthma
  • Constant ear infections
  • Food allergies
  • Poor posture

A holistic way to treat a child’s spine is with personalized chiropractic treatment. The chiropractic methods used on children are safe and take into consideration their developing spine, nervous system, and other essential body systems.

If you notice your child is battling any of the issues mentioned above, or you want to support your child with preventative wellness, speak with your chiropractor about the best program to help your little one remain healthy and happy
